BitMine Immersion Technologies crosses 1M staked ETH milestone
News
BitMine Immersion Technologies (BMNR) staked an additional 86,400 Ether (ETH) on Saturday, valued at approximately $268.7 million at the time, pushing its staked holdings beyond 1 million ETH.
Arkham Intelligence data show the 86,400 ETH was staked across four transactions. Onchain analysis platform Lookonchain reported that BitMine’s total staked position has reached 1,080,512 ETH.
BitMine Immersion Technologies is the largest Ethereum treasury holder by assets, with more than 4 million ETH in its corporate treasury.
Staking involves locking tokens with validators or through third-party services to help secure proof-of-stake blockchains, in return for yield paid in the network’s native asset.
“BitMine has now staked about $3.3 billion worth of ETH. At the current 2.81% yield, that generates roughly $94.4 million per year in ETH,” market analyst Nic Puckrin said. He also noted that Bitcoin does not generate cash flow and questioned whether holding a stakeable asset could improve resilience if another downturn occurs.

The milestone follows a volatile period for crypto treasury firms, with some losing more than 90% from their peak valuations. BitMine’s stock is down over 80% from its all-time high of $161 per share in July 2025 and was trading at $30.06 per share at the time of publication.

BitMine chair seeks shareholder approval for 1000x increase in authorized shares
In early January 2026, Chairman Tom Lee asked shareholders to approve raising the company’s authorized share limit to 50 billion from 50 million, a 1000x increase.
Lee clarified that increasing the authorized share limit does not necessarily mean the company will issue those shares.
He said the higher limit would support potential future stock splits to keep the price per share near $25.
