Binance Names Co-Founder Yi He Co-CEO Alongside Richard Teng
Binance has appointed co-founder Yi He as co-CEO, establishing a dual leadership structure alongside chief executive Richard Teng. The announcement was made on Wednesday during Binance Blockchain Week.
Teng said Yi He “has been an integral part of the executive leadership team since the launch of Binance,” describing the move as “a natural progression.”
Prior to the appointment, Yi He served as Binance’s chief marketing officer. Teng said she has played a key role in expanding the platform’s community and advancing product development.
Yi He said sharing the CEO responsibilities with Teng will bring together two distinct perspectives, noting Teng’s background in regulated financial markets.
Yi He co-founded Binance in 2017 with Changpeng “CZ” Zhao and is considered a crypto-native executive.

Teng was named CEO in late November 2023 after CZ resigned and pleaded guilty to charges brought by the U.S. Department of Justice. Before that, Teng led Binance’s regional markets outside the United States.
